  • What if I don't know how to be a sitter?
That’s fine! The retreat is designed for people who are new to psychedelic guiding, so you’ll be in good company. Our intention is not only to explore the basics of guiding, but to provide a context in which you benefit not only from your own journey, but from supporting and learning from those of your fellow travelers. In our experience, sitting for others in a group setting has the potential to powerfully inform and deepen our own work. Our team will be present during the retreat and includes individuals with more experience in sitting that can supervise you and be available for any difficulties that might arise.
  • Do I have to already have experience with psychedelics and/or ACT?
No. There are no requirements for participants to have had their own previous experiences with psychedelics or knowledge of ACT. However, while there are many other wonderful opportunities available for people to participate in psychedelic retreats that are oriented aroundother traditions, this retreat is specifically designed for those who are interested in learning about how ACT and other contextual behavioral science approaches might be applied to psychedelic-assisted therapy.
  • In what ways is this a "secular" retreat?
While many retreats incorporate spiritual elements into their preparation/integration practices, dosing ceremonies, etc., Perspective retreat practices are not grounded in any spiritual or religious basis. Perspective Retreat practices and activities, including our dosing ceremonies, reflect our values: safeness, openness, self-transcendence and light-heartedness.

  • Where are retreats held?
Our retreats are held in Oostkapelle, Netherlands, a beautiful rural location about 2 hours from Amsterdam that is accessible by car or train. The property is walking distance to a charming small town, close to horse-back riding, a beach, and biking/walking trails. Single and shared rooms are available.
  • What's the space like?
There are two main living room areas that are perfect for psilocybin sessions, as is the large private garden. Because this is a group retreat, you can expect to be in the same common area as other participants. While we will have interns available to assist with meal preparation, cooking, and dishes, participants should be prepared to help out with some of these tasks as needed. Participants are also expected to contribute to keeping the common space clean and tidy, and are responsible for the upkeep of their individual bedrooms as there is no housekeeping service during the retreat.
  • Will there be vegetarian and/or gluten-free meal options available?
Meals will be simple and fresh. There will be a vegetarian option available at every meal, and we will do our best to accommodate other dietary preferences when possible. Participants will also have access to a common kitchen where they can store and/or prepare their own food items, beverages, snacks, etc.
